Bed is where dreams are made and if your bedroom needs an update, don’t worry you can still create that room of your dreams by adding some new furniture. Whether your bedroom is brand new or is just need a face lift, a few new pieces can really give your room a nice face lift. The first item on your agenda should be the bed, because this is where memories are made. Here are some great bed ideas for your next bedroom makeover:
Canopy beds. The main piece of furniture in almost any bedroom is, without a doubt, the bed. And why not treat yourself to a new and unique canopy bed this season? Cushions on the top of the bed frame to provide extra height making it easy to add headboards, and a beautiful view is always with you when you choose canopy beds.
Low platform bed. A low platform bed is an ideal choice for any small bedroom. It provides extra space underneath the bed, allowing you to create that open-air feeling to your bedroom. Also, because it is raised, you will have more floor space to place other items such as dressers or chests of drawers. If you have a larger room, consider a raised platform bed as an option for your small bedroom design.
Wall sconces on each side of the bed add accent lighting to your small bedroom. The wall sconces themselves can be painted in bright colors to match any color scheme or interior design. For a monochromatic look, use one wall sconce as the focal point and paint the rest of the walls in a soft color. You could even consider adding art to the wall sconces to really bring out their beauty.
Headboards. If you like a more traditional look, headboards are the perfect choice for canopy beds. Headboards are much higher than they used to be, which allows you to access the whole length of the bed without using a ladder. As with the other furnishings in your bedroom, headboards can be custom made with antiques, cutouts, or other decorative items to create a unique look.
Cabinets. If you have the opportunity to put a bit of yourself into your bedroom decorating, why not consider having some decorative storage built in? Many cabinets come ready-made, but if you find that you want to try something a little different, consider painting the doors and walls in a decorative pattern. Make sure the cabinet’s doors are spaced properly so that they do not open inwards or outwards.
